Use acetone, but be careful not to spill any on yourself. It really stinks when it is fresh.
Put masking tape around the edges you do not want to erase, and then use a damp cloth with the acetone and begin gently wiping the picture. That should do it.

Well, I have not actually tried it myself, but I believe you need true acetone, not products that have acetone in it.
I used to work at a gas seperation plant where one of the areas was used to create bottles of acetone for industrial welding (I think - I do not really know much about this - I just filled the bottles and put them on the trucks).

You can always just do it the old-fashion way with an eraser. If you have a pen eraser, those are helpful for a quick start, and then switch back to traditional eraser to finish it up and polish it up (pen eraser leaves scratches).

You can buy pure acetone at a beauty supply shop. Beuticians use the undiluted form for "super nail polish remover".
Kind of ashamed I know this.....

Grrrr... I tried many different erasers, (including fancy professional ones for art!!) but none of them did anything... except leave a sort of opaque film on the card where I rubbed it. I tried for a long long time, with varied amounts of pressure. I used a Mirrodin Common Non-Foil... perhaps this works with older cards and not new?... Or maybe you have a 'trick' to doing it... please let me know
Thanks,
Dylan I.

The 'trick' to getting the ink off of cards is to get it started in one place with a really abrasive eraser (like the grey pen ones) or really hard, repeated rubbing over one region, or both. Once you get the ink broken in one place, the rest comes much more easily (except near your mask; it is critical that you use a thin material such as scotch tape as the mask to minimize the 'shadow' generated around the edge) I had a decent amount of success with this method when testing the 'white bordered torment' thing that went around a while ago.

I did the white-bordered Torment thing, except with two Invasion Harrows. It's pretty cool for a while. Certain erasers worked better than others. Bic Mechanical pencil erasers didn't work. "Traditional" pencils' erasers did.

You can use any eraser actually. I've used those typical white eraser usually used for normal pencil.
Here is the result

I did on top of a cardboard so you might see a little "bump" so do it on top of something flat :p
I used tape around the picture so it won't ruin the card that much.

I tried it on some crappy darksteel common with an eraser, and it took forever. I never finished (there is just a big white spot in the middle.)

electric eraser would be fine on regular cards, otherwise it's a lot of elbow grease and time. try to erase a lightly inked white card, saves time.
for foils, merc. masques seem to blank the easiest, go to your local hardware store/home depot/ lowe's etc... and buy some industrial acetone. nail polish remover is only like 3% and has gummy substances in it to keep your nails from falling out..
get a BIG pile of qtips, dip in acetone, and start in small circles. once you have one area done, you can get the rest easier. the text seems to be really stubborn for some reason.
main reason i use masques foils is for some reason the borders are heavier, and less prone to edging screwups. masking them off with tape works too, if the tape is acetone resistant!!
see some pics here of foils and blanks i've had artists sketch for me..
you can see how some edges fared better than others.
if you try this and find you don't have the time, let me know, extras can be had for a price!!
