Title: what should I do?
Post by dry_cereal on Dec 16th, 2004, 12:15am

I've been sitting on this card for a while.  I'm making a set of dry cereal cards.  So far there are:

the pantry
mox crispie
fiber inspiration
chex and balances
and apocalyptic spoonful

I don't know what I should have apocalyptic spoonful do.  Any ideas?

You should have at least one for each color, plus a land, and artifact, and a multicolor.  At this point you have:

the pantry - green, I guess, or maybe a land ???
mox crispie - artifact
fiber inspiration - sounds pretty black to me  :o
chex and balances - white wonder

figure out its color, and maybe that will help

the pantry is a legendary cabinet
mox crispie is an artifact breakfast
fiber inspiration is an interrupt
and chex and balances is a sorcery

Couple of bowls of bran flakes and some prunes.
Now that's an apocalypse waiting to happen. ;D

How about:

You may play crimped cards without paying their mana cost.
or
http://gatherer.wizards.com/magic/images/symbols/tap.gif: Put a crimped card from your hand into play.

(alternativ card name: Collectors Squeezer or Dry's Pliers)

Sorry, played to much Unhinged  ;)

SUPER Colon Blow!
Man, I tried to find a screenshot, but I failed :(

Apocalyptic Spoonful:

X, Tap: Destroy X cereal tokens.

Seems simply enough right?

I was making the cards actually usable in a real game
that's half the fun :)

Flavor text --
Snap, Crackle, KABOOM!!!

Whenever a Cereal comes into play, you may have it deal 1000 damage to target creature.

Now of course, Apocalyptic spoonful doesn't sound much like an enchantment that would happen every time you have a new cereal.  Hmm, this will require some thought.

Apocalyptic Spoonful
Enchant Cereal
When a Milk comes into play, remove from the game all permanents other than that Milk and enchanted Cereal.
Snap, Crackle, KABOOM!!!

ANALOG_KID's flavor text is perfect for that idea.  The concept, of course, being that the milk detonates the cereal.  Though I'm not quite sure why the cereal would survive.

Here's an idea:

(Picture sort of like autumn willow - maybe more imaginative or risque)

Mothers Milk:

Instant - Immediately eliminates ALL cereal effects.  Cannot be countered except by the effects of expensive jewelery.

Mothers Milk makes even the driest cereal soggy!

Whatever else you do, you must use 'Snap, Crackle, KABOOM!' as the flavor text.  Might I suggest that you make a small number of white-bordered 'summer' cereal cards?

It should weaken target (or all) cereal card(s) in play in some way.

What do the other cereal cards do? Perhaps this will help us decide.

Maybe apocalyptic spoonful can remove from the board (or from the game) all cards currently affected by any cereal card.

Snap, crackle, KABOOM!  It was consumed, and it was good  ;D

HI
apocalyptic spoonful
Add Apo Spo and another card to your ante:
Use the crimper on target card and add it to your collection [smiley=evil.gif].

Or for normal play use:
Sacrefice Apo Spo: Drown target card in a bowl of wet cereals.

It should most definitely be a red + green enchantment reading:

"Whenever cereal lands are tapped for mana, add 1 extra mana to your mana pool which that land could provide."

;D

EDIT: tried to make this actually "playable" like dry_cereal requested... also, I guess this card should benefit cereal-cards rather than damage or hinder them.

here's an example of one of the cards

http://people.cornell.edu/pages/bp43/cereal/inspiringfiber2.jpg

I like the idea using the cereal lands though :)

Oh, and some of the people who are getting land sets will get a special artist proof, and some will get a special white-bordered card.

Does that means I can get those lands too ? ;D

Seriously, I would really love them, pls tell me how I can contribute to your cause (sadly I have only one crimped card  [smiley=dissappointed.gif])

yep, it's all about contributing crimps.  Also, for each crimp donated you will recieve at random one dry cereal card.

Apocalyptic Spoonful (or some other name if this doesn't fit the ability):

When Apocalyptic Spoonful comes into play, each player chooses a creature type.  You gain control of all creatures of the chosen type.  When Apocalyptic Spoonful leaves play, each opponent gains control of each creature of the type they chose.

All your cereal are belong to me.

What about:

Blow up target creature (this creature may not be regenerated and all creatures adjacent to target creature take 1 pt of dmg).

You can use the Terror art but insert a spoon in it's mouth with milk and cereal in the background.

How about some kind of Chaos Orb type effect.

Slide Apocalyptic Spoonful under target permanet.  Flip that target permanent into the air.  Destroy any permanents that the flipped permanent is touching when it lands.

The wording is a little awkward, but I think you get the idea.
