Title: Favorite Color (in magic, of course)
Post by van8888 on Sep 6th, 2004, 12:24am

What colors do you like, and like to play?  What color do you not play, and hate to play against?

I like red and green.  I dislike playing against black and blue.

I am in line w/ rg-

Old-school days I played a lot of black and/ or white. Blue is fun but obviously more powerful, green is kinda boring to me, and red is okay but easiest to play, it requires less thought.

Back in the day when a combo deck ran stuff like Sorceress Queen/ Nettling Imp/ Sengir vampire, white & black were what I enjoyed playing most. Those two colors can still evoke a nostalgic feeling.

Out of 12 decks, 1 is black/blue, 2 are black, 3 are mono-red, 3 are mono-green, 1 is green/red, and 1 is white/green.  The black/blue is best, but requires the most thought.

I am with van8888 here.  I like red/green and hate blue although I use it the most in Type 1.

When i first started playing back in 94 i played Red, Green. I got tired of all the counter in blue and played a White, Blue mess with ya deck. now i have no favorite i'll play any color any combination i play for fun. winning is a bonus. not a must for me. right now i'm finding every card that goes well with Crucible of Worlds. Then i'll figure out the deck and colors. ;D   ;)

same here.  I like winning, but my decks are designed to be fun - I find a card I like and build a deck around it, like my Wurm deck with Crush of Wurms, my black/blue deck with U. Dreams, etc, and so on.  I'll play any color, but as hard as I try, most end up green, and with 4 BOPs in them.  ;D ;D ;D

I'd have to say my favorite colors go in the following order, from favorite to least favorite:

White, Black, Blue, Green, Red.

I don't really dislike playing against a particular color, just specific strategies, like bounce.

I guess that i really the core of what I was saying.  I dont dislike blue or black, I just dislike bounce / countering and those black "kill everything" decks.  I have nothing against the colors, just specific abilities that those colors have.

Yeah, I am sure everyone loves sitting on their @** while their opponent counters stuff and then all of a sudden their opponent plays one threat and wins the game.  I hate that but for some reason I keep playing 4cc.

I built a 5 color dragon deck that used sneak attack and zirilan of the claw that once i played one or two cards everyone new the deck and i was a target and still would win after about 10 or so games over a 3 month period it was no more fun for any of us so i retired it. Nicol Bolis is still giving me dirty looks in my binder he liked the look on people's faces as he destroyed thier hopes of winning lol ;D

I haven't put together a serious deck for the longest time.  Lately my decks are theme decks that keep playing silly cards to make the opponent laugh and not want the game to end.  Like my hobo deck.  When I play my 5th lonely sandbar, or my "homeless joe" from deadlands, the game is pretty fun.  Other than that, I don't like any color.  The idea of a U/W control deck fascinates me.  I have no clue how to play a black deck, so stay away from those.

5th Lonely Sandbar?  Homeless Joe?  Deadlands?  Huh?

yeah, the deck is all about hobo-themed cards.  In another card game there is a card named homeless joe.  Unfortunately the card is larger than a magic card, but I play with it anyway.

Blue/Green because it's a bastard step child color combination.

From a gameplay point of view, I like all colors equally.

From an ethic point of view, I favor white.

I like red weirdo decks, like my old goblin explosion deck, and of course there's a few dragon whelps in too 8)
Red has alot of thinking if you want it to have ;D If you just load it with bolts and rages I guess it doesn't, though :P

Did you steal my deck or what?  ;D

Green is my most fav and if I play 2 colors plus is usually one of them.

Also unless my green is weak at the pre-release this is usually the color I lean on as core for my deck and will bring in the second most powerful color I have (or complimentary).

Well to tell the truth got really no idea yet. At the moment I play with green elf deck (copied kinda from my dear sweet cute Boyfriend) The problem only is that my deck is way to slow against his deck *growls* Tough at the moment am waiting for the pre-release of the new serie. Going to it with a cool group ^_^ yup yup. Thinking of making a nice white deck with dragons and samurai's.
Tough there are two colours I really hate that's blue and black. Me hate Terror and other annoying cards. My boyfriend wondering why I hate it. Maybe it is also that one guy were we play keeps making living dead decks and it's absolute no fun to play against that guy. He got the air like. "hello I'm the best. Do not argue with me" it's that kind of a guy. So annoying. Ah well shit happens. But I do have to admite I'm a total noob for the rest in magic. Just am playing it for about 3 months. haha

I like to play with death and fire. [smiley=evil.gif]
Water and plant life are too slow. ;D

I use to play with blue white and black in the old days.
There are more gold card combos for that color lineup.
