is it called remembrance day?
hmm,
on the 4th of may we have (to translate it very roughly) death remembrance day (we think of all the 6 million people that died during WWII) so therefore we cannot have a "pleasant" remebrance day.
on the 5th of may we have Liberation day, then we celebrate that we got liberated 60 years ago,
ok, ok, thnx Canada.
thanx to you we can have some serious fun every year on the 5th of may.
free concerts and a lot of other fun.....

we even have Pink Saturday here in the netherlandians, same as the article above.....only a lot bigger

Oh, sorry, did not realize I had the wrong name for it. Though Liberation Day does sound like a better name.
So much stuff in the news here this week, what with all the Canadian war vets visiting in remembrance of the 60th anniversary of liberation.

Well, we French people do hold a grudge against the Germans in Soccer too. Something about a goal-keeper forgetting his spiked shoes into one of our players' face (and not being sanctionned either).
