I watched the movie on Wednesday and was very pleased. It was darker and more mature, without any annoying comic relief, and finally had some character depth. The special effects were fine overall (with one exception). All in all, it easily surpasses its two predecessors and at least attempts to create a bridge to Episode IV.

I agree with Ralph above. I just returned from the afternoon mattinee (good time to go - people at work, kids in school! ) and Sith is better by far than the first two episodes. Although, I do hope that the DVD release will have expanded scenes in it. Even if it does not, I will buy it - but I do hope for expanded scenes.

Me neither, so I decided to wait and so who would finally do it...

Yeah, I noticed something too. PM me if you don't want to give spoilers.

I heard there was a scene with a young Han Solo that was cut. Also, I hope they expand the opening scene - that *type* of scene (once you start down the dark spoilers path, forever will it dominate your destiny thread... comsume you us it will) has always been my favorite.
Overall, I think it was great, but about 80% of the Anakin-Padme scenes could have been cut out. The lightsaber scenes were amazing...

Just a little sub note here; for those that have not yet seen this movie (and do want to see it), or even for those who have seen the movie - I would suggest reading the book "Labyrinth of Evil" by James Luceno.
The events of this book occur just weeks and days prior to the events of SW:ROTS. Including the events that led up to what has happened to the Chancellor at the start of the movie. You do not need to read this book to watch the movie, however my opinion is that this is a good book to read first. It is only hard cover format right now, as it came out in April, so paperback (cheaper) will probably not happen for quite a few months.

I found it to be far superior than the other 2 prior films. I agree with the statements above, although I am not sure where the one exception is in the special effects.
This weekend I will be watching all 6 in a row... should be interesting!

SPOILER WARNING:
The fight scenes were great. On the other hand, the story was weak. He turned completely evil in about 15 minutes and started killing kids. What's up with that?
They should have started him being more than just slightly evil at the end of Episode II. Or just had him kill a couple Jedi and let the Storm Troopers do the rest. It was all overkill. And Padme went from being a kickass female character to a knocked up lovesick weakling.
At least there was really no annoying Jar Jar scenes. I will say I loved the end of the fight and getting Darth into the suit. Cool stuff!
I also agree, the lizard was a little silly.

Unfortunately, there was no Jar-Jar DYING scene either. With all the other people Anakin killed, you'd think he could at least take care of Jar-Jar.

Yea, Jar-Jar disappeared. So, I can now think of one thing good about the axed releases of 7/8/9.

Disappeared? No, he had one scene here. Lucas is probably going to sell off the rights for 7,8&9, and that is when all the fans will re-joice, because the Jar-Jar will make his big comeback. For whatever reason Naboo will be of interest again in Episode 7, and King Jar Bar will be front and centre
(oh please George, do not make this reality!!!)

Sorry, didn't elaborate- I meant he "disappeared", as in his character was left be, didn't die, and (obviously) was not included in the future storyline- 4,5,6. Everyone else relevant seems to die. At least Jar-Jar didn't talk in this film.
And now I've almost seen them in order. Over the long weekend I watched Episodes 1-5, and will watch P6 Tuesday night. It's hard to watch 6 films & still go out & have fun...
