Hi Raven,
If you were not aware, this is the theme for the Mirrodin block - the Kaldra set. The pre-release card for the next set will be the Helm of Kaldra.

I wonder if anything cool is going to happen with all the equipments. maybe like a sac ability? like the dark suplicant? Maybe you sac all the equipments and get some kaldra creature?

A related question to anyone who attended the Paris prerelease:
Did they say that we are going to get our prerelease promos by mail? My French is quite bad so I just guessed that they would be sent to our addresses ny mail in 2 weeks. Did I get that right

I was thinking something like if a creature equipped with all 3 Kaldra artifacts deals damage to a player, that player loses the game. But then a creature that's indestructible with a +5/+5 bonus and whatever the Helm does is probably going to be killing your opponent pretty quick once he gets through anyway, so maybe not. I'll bet the Helm costs 4 to cast and 4 to equip though, since both Sword and Shield cost that much.

That's true. with one defencive card already I wonder what the helm will do? It most likely will not increase toughness, because it's already un-killable.

Supposedly from the book...bringing the three together creates some sort of avatar. I's assume something like an alternate win condition if all are equipped to a creature and the creature damages an opponent, you win the game. Or maybe a platinum angel effect. Who knows?

It was not official, but I remember reading somewhere that there was going to be another "you can't lose the game" card. maybe that will be it.

I don't think so Raven_Fire. Somewhere else (possibly here) has mentioned that as well. WOTC hadn't ever printed a card refering to a card that didn't exist yet.

I think is cool though. Maybe there reasoning is that it may buint up suspence for what would happen with the helm. If that was it, it really seems to be working.

When asked about any hints of the upcoming Fifth Dawn set, Magic: The Gathering designer Henery Stern (I think his name is) told Scrye to take a close look at Shield of Kaldra. At first, I thought he meant for us to find that Helm of Kaldra was going to be released, but now that I've seen this promo foil and the boxes for Fifth Dawn, I really believe that Masticore is going to be reprinted. If you look at the card (or a nice scan of the card), there is a reflection of Masticore in the shield.
