Title: news about DCI Argothian Enchantress Post by Ralph Herold on Jun 25th, 2004, 8:08pm I have been sent the following info from a Japanese judge: I got DCI Argothian Enchantress Foil Promo at Japan Nationals. I started with the open quarifire, during the 4 days, acted as the JUDGE and got it from the Mr.Ron Foster. Title: Re: news about DCI Argothian Enchantress Post by mintcollector on Jun 25th, 2004, 10:45pm I had thought these would have been given out at PT Kobe, but I had not heard anything about it. The only thing I have seen are the cards appearing (as leaks). Nothing official from what I have heard. I have asked many higher up judges if they ever got one and they said no, not yet. These guys did get their Balances though. |

Title: Re: news about DCI Argothian Enchantress Post by mintcollector on Jun 28th, 2004, 4:36pm Ralph: I have come to determine that this card probably will not be given out formally. Various judges are getting them for random things. I just went on Saturday on a tip from an old college M:TG player I knew to a store that got 3 in. One of the co-owners is a local Level 2 judge and he has a total of 3. His partner was only there, so I could not get any history on them. I ended up picking one up, since they offered one to me at a fair price. Hey, also mark down I picked you up a spare Carrion Feeder and I have that on your pile. Let me know if you have an interest in an Enchantress for yourself, as the store has 2 more and the price is very fair. |

That's incorrect. The Enchantress has been given to judges at Grand Prix: Brussels, US Nationals / JSS Championship, and Grand Prix: Zurich. That's pretty standard now for new judge foils, though they're usually first released at a Pro Tour-level event (PT, US Nationals, Worlds) first. There were some number of them leaked or stolen - they were not officially distributed before Brussels (I personally asked DCI Judge Manager Andy Heckt about this at US Nationals). Cheers, Ben |

Ben: this is the exact info that has been lacking here that Ralph wanted. No one came forward to mention this to my knowledge. I know what you meant about expecting this to be released at the pro-tour level, which is why I theorized PT Kobe. Since it did not appear there, it release became somewhat of a mystery as all we saw would be leaks. I was unaware of their releases at the Grand Prix events and US Nationals. Since I do not strongly follow the professional play of M:TG closely, which one of these was chronologically first? Ralph will need this as this non-pro-tour event will become the offical release he will record here for it. I think a lot of us assumed the Enchantress appearances to still be leaks. |

Title: Re: news about DCI Argothian Enchantress Post by bdrago on Jun 29th, 2004, 3:57am I'm fairly certain the Argothian Enchantress was first "officially" distributed to judges at Grand Prix Brussels, Belgium - May 29-30, 2004. "Officially" is in quotes because some were obviously leaked, and possibly by internal sources (WotC or one of their resellers). Other judge foils: Hammer of Bogardan (Pro Tour Osaka, Mar. 15-17, 2002), and Tradewind Rider (Pro Tour Houston, November 8-10, 2002). |

It's also known as formal Nationals Judge prize ;) My friend got two from FIN Nationals. Also the head judge of Estonian Nationals (5-6 June) was supposed to get one via mail as prize from that event. I'll try to check that and also will ask were there any finnish Judges in Brussels :) |
