Why Can't I bid on Ebay Germany/France?

Hey guys,
Recently someone put up a link to an ebay item in Germany, and from that item I was able to navigate the site, and ended up buying a German Chrome Mox (yay). But now when I go back and look at the auction, the catagories along the top are dead links.
It's usually like this when I try to shop European Ebay sites. I can't 'browse' in the catagory I want to shop in, because the links are dead.
Any ideas why this is happening? Does ebay not want Americans shopping on Ebay.Fr? Is there a way around it?

How do you reach ebay.de or ebay.fr ?
I bet you have searched an item, watched it and now
you try to look at it again from ebay.com->MyEbay, right ?
Prices are converted to USD (below Euro) and Time is your american standard time ? Second you'll notice .../cgi.ebay.com... in your browser, that's linking not visiting really.
If so then it's the same problem as for me getting
to american auctions.
Workaround:
Go to ebay.de or ebay.fr directly (you'll notice if no currency conversion is shown) and search for the auction.
Don't know the reason really

That did work - thanks! Now, what are the other designations for Ebay?
WWW.EBAY.FR is French, DE is German...IT Italian? Is there a Portuguese, Spanish, and/or other countries ebay?

Also in Advanced Search you can choose to find items by sellers location. One option is any location. Helpful for searching for anything truly elusive.

Go to either http://pages.ebay.com/ or http://pages.ebay.com/regional/hub.html, on the bottom there is a menu of the various Global eBay sites.
