Magic and Poker: The Gruesome Twosome?

A couple of weeks ago, the world's largest annual poker tournement was held in Las Vegas. At the final top 8 table, no less than 3 former Magic pro tour players made an appearance. A former proffesional magic player took second place and won $3.5 million.
my question is this: what gives former pro magic players the edge over pro poker players from around the world? it cannot be a coincidence that 3/8 of the final table came from the ranks of the pro tour. i find this all very interesting.
comments? questions? expound.

Well, other than in my days of playing Magic, Strip Magic would only have been with the guys - and for that reason, playing the Strip version would not have been anywhere near as fun as Strip Poker.. Heck, knowing some of the guys, Strip Magic would have been too scary too play

Hmmm ... Don't know ... Maybe MtG Pro-Tour players are used to master skills required by Poker:
- Concentration
- Hiding all feelings
- Bluffing
- Noticing opponents feeling / guessing what he has in hands
- Computing fast all possible combinations and probabilities before doing any move
- Being able to bear pressure over a long period of time (tourney can last quite long).
- etc.
But I think that they also love competitive playing and they love winning.
Just my 0.02.
Eric.
