natalie portman is now officially on my hit list. She was pathetic.
Plus, anakin was poorly cast
also, the old people fighting and trying to look badass was pathetic.
palpatine looks like mr bean before the transformation.
darth vader showing emotion pissed me off. I think he should have been dead, kept alive only by the force and cold to the world like in the next three.
all in all, I didnt see the first two and am glad.
Biggest suck that ever sucked.
I hope george sells the rights so someone who isn't a cheesy sob can make any more that may occur.

Sorry Ben, I have to disagree in regards to Natalie.
If she was older, or I was younger - ahhh, she is a very attractive lady for her age. Although, I can't really say if I feel that she was physically so very attractive, or that it was the clothing she wore that brought her beauty up.
Sometimes a woman's choice of clothing can be very important, and really add to the woman's physical essence.

I thought it could have been better, myself.
The scenes did little to make the audiance empathize with the characters. The main scene that comes to mind is when Anakin learns that the Palpatine is the Sith Lord. That scene should have sent chills down everyone's spines, but it didn't. The fact that everyone knew he was the Sith Lord isn't an excuse, imho, since the assassination of President Santiago in Babylon 5 still sorta sends chills down my spine even though I know its gonna happen.
The best scene that they did was the one where Padme is pleading with Anakin on the lava planet (Mustefa or something). Obi-Wan's getting off of the ship to the dismay of Padme was probably the scene that drew out the most emotion, imho.
Also, some surprises could have been thrown in. Yoda could have been tempted by the dark side for just a little bit. And why not? Yoda lost all his Jedi buddies. No one could blame him for shooting a little force lightning. The fact that Yoda didn't dual the emperor again could then be attributed to Yoda's fear of corruption, much in the same way Gandolf didn't ever put on the one ring.
They should have also showed Darth Vader breaking stuff at the end instead of screaming. I mean, Darth Vader should have been really angry at himself. Breaking stuff seems to be a good and believable outlet for that anger. Yelling "Noooooo" is probably the least believable outlet imaginable.

If you pay closer attention next time you'll notice stuff around him was breaking as he screamed no.
Anyways, my biggest complaint about the new trilogy vs old is how far advanced the technology is. Everything is slick and shiny and scifi in the new. Theres no real continuity, and his trying to place ships from the old trilogy into the new just didnt work for me.

That doesn't surprise me, but they should have put more emphasis on that. He should have been breaking stuff with his hands in addition to having stuff break due to the force.

I think the transition from new technology in the new trilogy to the old / broken down tech of the old trilogy is intentional. ie. the Death Stars are developed / maintained to the direlection of everything else.
