Fat-packs..

When did the Fat-packs start to appear? In what expansions does it exist?

I also wonder in what expansion does "player´s guide", that comes along with the fat-packs ,exist?

The Reason I´m wondering about player´s guide is that I wish to have a copy of everycard printed on paper..
I got the 5 MTG oficial encyklopedias, but for some reason they quit printing them, now im trying to fill the expansions up with the players guides.

Here is the newest Encyclopedia I know of. It is what I bought just recently for quick reference at work.  Doesn't give great detail about the products outside of card scans.

Thats the books I was talking about, but I have the 6 small books instead of that big book witch contents is exactly the same I have heard..

And back to fat packs. If it started by Mercadian masques. It shouldnt be any hole except for the 8th edition cards (there are no fat pack/plaýers guide to 8th huh?). What should I try to get instead then if I want scans of all cards on paper..?

Another thing to note.  The Mercadian Masques fat pack was also the only fat pack with a special promo card in it.  It had the Warmonger with the feather symbol in it.  All others since then have had no special cards.
