Alternate 4th is a good name, but don't listen to me, I have almost no idea what anyone is talking about. Would anyone mind telling me what alternate 4th/4.5 is?

It is, well, an alternate print of 4th edition. They were printed by a different company than usual (the usual company being Carta Mundi). The print matrix (aka the dots of color on the card) is different (really noticeable if you have them in front of you), the cards are more glossy, and they are UV coated, so they glow purple under a black light. They were rumored to be produced by this alternate company so that Wizards would have a printer that was based in the US. The deal fell through, and the cards were supposed to be destroyed, but many were not. We are trying to estimate how many were made, but there are (apparently) more than originally thought.
