alternate source of 10th anniversary life counter

I have read that the 10th anniversary life counter was distributed at the Global Celebration tournaments held in the USA. Can someone confirm this?

Ralph: Yes and No. They weren't given out to everyone, but some were given out on a limited basis at ours in Chicago. Although Jim at T&T kindly gave me one when I bought a DCI Living Death off of him, I did manage to grab a couple extras at the 10th anniv. I had assumed that tokens at the Global events was public knowledge already and did not think to make mention of it.

Nevertheless, I think since the life counter was not regularly given out on the Global Celebration tournaments, I will keep my current statement that this life counter was only officially distributed at Scourge prerelease tournaments in the US.

The counter was not given out at the big 10th Anniversary celebration at Gen Con Indy 2003.
Perhaps any that were given out are simply extras from the Scourge prerelease.

Nope! It was available at the Dutch (National) 8th Edition Prerelease, but only if you had a voucher that was distributed (freely) at FNM locations.

I have learned that the 10th anniversary life counters have been given out at the Global Celebration Events in the Czech Republic and in Washington, DC. All in all it seems that the distribution of these life counters has been handled differently in different places of the world.
rg, magicdude: What exactly do you mean with vouchers and tokens? Please elaborate.

Hello Ralph,
i think magicdude and i are talking about the same.
In Munich at the scourge prerelease they had a limited number of paper gift-certificates the size of a postcard (with images from 8th edition if i remember correctly).
These could be redeemed for the life counter at the 8th prerelease.
I called them token and magicdude voucher because english is not our first language  and both are synonyms for the gift-certificate

Here in sweden we had our 10th anniversary life counter given out at the "8th prerelease". All that was playin was given one at the same time we where given the rukh egg..
