My goodness...I had a lot of trouble finishing a NM BETA set just a few months ago, I can't imagine the pain of trying to do it for a set that is even more rare.
And let's not forget that the summer hurricane is going for THOUSANDS of dollars, and you would have to get one to have a complete set.

Speaking of Summer Magic sets, did someone here just buy out Troll and Toad's supply?
The did have a NM/Mint Serendib Efreet for $6500, which I was going to point out as the most expensive card in the set, but it's gone now. The did have a very good selection of Summer, but now all that I can find there is a Glasses of Urza and a Psychic Venom.

Yeah when ever there is a big event like gencon, they take some of their better cards off the web site and try to sell them at the event. More than likely the cards will be back on the site, in a week or so.

Great!, that's all we need is another person trying to collect summer magic.
One more person in the ebay bid wars.
Trust me, there are other sets to collect before you try to climb this mountain.
With more new people trying to collect these cards every day, and half of the people on this forum being summer collectors themselves.
Not to mention people like kikta1 and curt_heiden always jacking up all the rare prices.
I hope your pockets are deep.
I've spent thousands of dollars on my summer cards, and i'm not even near to a complete set.
And it's getting harder to find the cards i need as time goes on.
I see less and less that i need on ebay, and i'm only trying to collect one of each card.
My opinion, go collect Fallen Empires, now that was a set!

Speaking about those two, have a look at this :
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=19115&ite m=5915276480&rd=1&ssPageName=WDVW
$810 for a crap rare in this condition is about 4 times the price it would have fetched 1.5 years ago.

I,ve bought cards from them after Jims departure, it took three weeks to get my cards.
And it was summer cards worth over five hundred dollars.
You'd think they would try to speed up an order like that.

for those seeking to aquire a complete set, might it just be easier to offer a lot of money for an already completed set? Like, I dunno... a quarter of a million dollars should probably do the trick, and might be a lot less heart ache (well, if you have the money, heh)

But that takes out from the coolness and satisfaction of knowing you did it while everyone else failed.

The thrill of chasing down and acquiring cards is the best part of collecting for me too.
