I'm not saying its necessarily a good idea to post this information right away, but I think that everyone who opens packs should record the pack number, what the order of the tokens was in, and which one had a signature (and/or sketch).
This information could be useful. |

Depending upon how many tokens there are, beyond our 100 packs, we could set up a registry of which pack # cards come from. This info could be communicated and updated when tokens were sold. It would allow us to monitor where all the tokens are, which would severely reduce the possibility of fraud.
If there are thousands of packs we might have problems due to the volume.

hammr7: There are only 100 sets in existance (plus one open set for display purposes), and they have all been ordered by members and supporters of this website. I do not understand your suspicion regarding fraud. Please elaborate.

hammr7 has a good point. Eventually someone will start making fakes. They have done so in the past, why wouldn't it continue in the future? While hammr7's idea is noble, I fear that people will not track where the product goes to.

mintcollector: Note that the unpermitted public presentation of the ownership of all the cards is a violation of privacy rights. I can tell you in front that not all members will be willing to support this project.
AXIOS: Yes, each pack contains one of each token card.

perhapes a pedigree of sorts could be established, as well...
ie. if someone who's not a magicrarities member has one of these, they should be able to trace it back, eventually, to someone who was a magicrarities member.

Forgive my ignorance. I know that most of the earlier runs of Minagishi Tokens were fairly limited. I wasn't sure if the 100 sets allocated to the Rarities forum comprised the entire production of 10th series tokens, or just the entire allotment of packages of tokens containing autographs and / or sketches. That was the reason why my earlier post was nebulous on tracking, and the numbers involved.
As for concerns regarding fraud, we have all seen what has happened with recent Minagishi sets. Think of a system where every token was tracked to its original pack (example: "pack 23 goblin token" - for 1,000 cards in 3 flavors, this would be easy), and that information was transfered to the new owner, and also to the registry, when a token was sold or traded. The system would be almost as good as a PSA number, and would make it very difficult on counterfeiters.

hammr7: I now understand your concern and your idea to solve it, but as I said before, not everyone will support this. Nonetheless, you and anybody else are welcome to manage this list here in the forum.

My point is that lot of people here will keep for themselves at least one sealed pack. I don't know yet how these tokens are packed, but for me, a sealed pack is a very good proof of authenticity.

one problem with a sealed pack, however, is that you'll have no way of knowing whether or not that pack has an artist sketch, or what the autographed card is...

Yeah, but lot of people here aren't especially looking for a sketch... having one of these pack, even unopened, is having a true magic Rarities.

Have you seen this picture - http://magiclibrary.net/temp/kaitlyn.jpg.
Those packs don't look very sophisticated. Actually they only look like simple "team bags", oversized sleeves with a large flap on the top that seals.
Have to see what they look like when they arrive.

Since they are just in team bags, the concept of a "sealed pack" doesn't really apply to them.
This is another very good reason for people to keep careful inventory of what is contained in each pack number, for future reference if its needed.
